There is no doubt that Hatzalah plays an essential role in Baltimore, responding to approximately 2,000 calls per year. This need is growing rapidly annually.

WHEN SECONDS COUNT, HATZALAH IS THERE FOR YOU.

As an independent, non-profit volunteer organization, The Alvin S. Mintzes Hatzalah of Baltimore is dedicated to providing quick, professional and expert emergency care to the Northwest Baltimore community.

Established in 2006, our response team has since grown to a team of 75+ volunteers, including emergency medical responders (EMTs and Paramedics), dispatchers, along with 5 state-of-the-art transport units enabling us to arrive-on-scene in less than 3 minutes at a time when seconds can mean the difference between life and death.

Hatzalah's catchment area is constantly growing. As we get responders living in various areas that are willing to volunteer, we spread the size of our response area. All our responders are licensed or certified by the Maryland Institute for Emergency Medical Service Systems (MIEMSS).

Since our inception, we have responded to tens of thousand of calls for medical assistance, including cardiac, obstetric, diabetic, traumatic, covid related, neurological emergencies, missing person searches, and mutual aid to Baltimore City Fire Department for priority 1 calls, saving thousands of lives with our prompt, efficient and professional response.

We are here for the Baltimore Community, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. We are always available to answer your call.

WHAT DOES HATZALAH DO FOR

THE BALTIMORE COMMUNITY?

As the Baltimore community continues to grow, the need for Hatzalah grows as well. We are excited to share our plans to help us meet the community’s expanding needs. This includes building an additional garage which will be dedicated to the memory of M-58 Lonnie Borck, z”l, updating our radio system, onboarding new volunteers and constantly upgrading our medical equipment to meet the latest standards.

BALTIMORE DEPENDS ON HATZALAH & HATZALAH DEPENDS ON BALTIMORE.

In order to continue operating at maximum efficiency, Hatzalah must meet its annual $600,000 budget. Hatzalah NEVER charges to respond to medical emergencies or transporting a patient to the hospital. We depend on the community's support for our crucial work.

Do your part in keeping this vital organization alive by showing your support. Your donation will save lives.

WE ARE YOUR COMMUNITY.

Hatzalah responders are your neighbors, your friend, your family members and part of your community, providing comfort to families at some of their worst moments. The job of a Hatzalah volunteer doesn't stop at the end of the call response. Hatzalah's goal is to provide all aspects of emergency medical service. Our responder can also be relied upon to coordinate patient care with area hospitals and doctors, serve as patient advocates, and offer family support in times of need.
